BRAND BULDING
Branding for Mardisan, a brand that aims to reflect the cultural heritage of Mardin through the local products. Located in southeastern Turkey, Mardin’s roots go beyond generations. Inspired by the many civilizations who lived in the fertile lands of Mesopotamia, brand offers local foods, crafted design objects and a well selected souvenir collection.
The name Mardisan comes from the combination of Mardin and Artisan. The brief was to create an identity that looks contemporary yet bears trace of the eastern heritage. The symbol of the brand, 2 dragons facing each other, bounded with the lion figure, is inspired by the door knob of the Great Mosque of Cizre that was built in 13. century, designed by Ebul-iz el Cezeri.
The dragons represent the Fırat & Dicle rivers and Meseopotamia.
